One of 2 biggest tournaments of League of Legend – MSI 2020 will officially be cancelled because of the heavy effect of Covid-19.
A few weeks ago, Riot Games has officially made an announcement about the fate of the 2nd biggest international tournament of the year of League of Legend – Mid Season Invitational 2020.
According to the announcement, after considering different risks and factors about numerous problems being brought out by pandemic Covid-19, the Organization Department of League of Legend decided to cancel every events involved in MSI 2020.
Before coming up with this final decision, Riot Games once set up a plan to put off the competing schedule of MSI 2020 from May to July, with the viewing to a better situation of handling Covid-19. However, after receiving some measurements and warnings from WHO as well as local policy, Riot Games was drived to a hard decision, which is to cancel this traditional tournament.
Along with the cancel of MSI 2020, the summer tournaments of 12 main areas will still take place on schedule being brought out from the begin of the year, which will start in July and end in November. In some regions, the tournaments will continue to be held online if there is no more positive transformation in the Covid-19 situation.
In regarding of the 2020 Worldwide Final, as many predictions being revealed beforehands by Kenzi journalist – FOMOS, Korea, the participating list will be changed a little. EC and LPL will be 2 regions which owns 4 slots of taking part in the Worldwide Final, LCK, LCS own 3 slots; VCS, CS own 2 and the rest own 1 slot to take part in the tournament. This will be one of the most appealing tournament of the year.
